HOW TO MAKE CROCHET STITCHES? |
|
Magic Circle |
To make a magic circle, you have to wrap the yarn once on your three fingers with the end of the yarn facing you. On the back of your hands, you should have two strands of yarn. Your thumb should be holding the tail of yarn to prevent it from becoming undone. Now, Insert your hook under the first strand of yarn near your fingertips and pull up a loop on the second strand of yarn. You have to chain 1 by pulling your working yarn inside the loop. |
Slip Stitch |
To make a slip stitch, insert the hook on the next stitch and pull through the loop on your hook. |
Single Crochet |
To make a single crochet, insert the hook in the next st under both loops of the st. Bring the yarn over to the other side (from back to front) and pull up a loop of yarn through the stitch. You will have two loops on the hook, bring the yarn over the hook again and pull through both loops on the hook. You will have one loop left on the hook.
|
Half Double Crochet |
To make a half double crochet, you have to yarn over so you will have two loops on your hook. Insert the hook into the next stitch under both loops of the stitch. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the stitch, you will have three loops on your hook. Yarn over the hook again and pull through all three loops on the hook. You will have one loop left on the hook. |
Single Crochet Decrease |
To decrease, pull up a loop on the 1 st and 2nd st. Yarn over and pull through all three loops. |
Changing Yarn |
To change your yarn, insert your hook in the next st under both loops of the st. Bring the yarn over to the other side (from back to front) and pull up a loop of yarn through the stitch. Once hou two loops on the hook, get your other choice of yarn and bring the yarn over the hook again and pull through both loops on the hook. You will have one loop left on the hook. |
Single Crochet Increase |
To increase, make two single crochet in the same stitch. |
Connecting the Yarns |
This is integral to combining two yarns :)
